  • HELP Center: Help Center is a peer counseling and crisis intervention hotline, where students can speak to a peer counselor in confidence about any problem students are dealing with. Empower Maryland is committed to fostering the development of a more comprehensive mental health and wellness plan that streamlines existing resources provided by the University Health Center and Counseling Center.

  • Transfer2Terp: Transfer2Terp Organization promotes Leadership, feeling of community, and creates friendship for transfer students. The mission of this organization is to help ensure transfer students have a smooth transition into the college community, both academically and socially. Empower Maryland is committed to elevating student group concerns with the University Administration to ensure their voices and concerns are being heard.

  • UMD Mayuri: Mayuri is University of Maryland's annual premiere Indian Classical Dance Competition. With more opportunities for showcasing this unique art, Mayuri hopes to expand the interest for Indian Classical dance and provide teams a venue to flourish, learn and compete as dancers, artists, and students. Empower Maryland pledges to get input from minority communities and groups to ensure SGA decisions reflect the values of all students.

  • UMD College Democrats: UMD College Democrats is an organization dedicated to promoting progressive activism on campus through community service, special events, and grassroots mobilization efforts. It also works to provide networking and leadership opportunities for student members. Empower Maryland is committed to collaborating with student groups across campus to collectively advocate for student interests at the local, state, and federal level.

  • UMD College Republicans: UMD College Republicans is an organization that promotes the values of conservatism on campus. It invites its members to participate in campaign events and many other various political, academic, and service activities. Empower Maryland pledges to work with student groups across political spectrum to collectively advocate for student interests at the local, state, and federal level. 

  • Interfraternity Council Executive Board: The Interfraternity Council (IFC) is the self-governing group of elected students representing the 26 member fraternities at UMD. It provides opportunities for interaction among fraternities. Empower Maryland recognizes the importance of Greek life on campus, and we are committed to building healthy relationships between the Greek community and other student groups, local landlords, and the city of College Park. 

  • Terps for Israel: Terps for Israel is a student-run, bipartisan, pro-Israel organization that educates the campus community about Israel through events and advocacy, both on campus and on Capitol Hill. While they focus on strengthening the US-Israel relationship, they also foster and build conversation surrounding Israeli-Palestinian conflict and a two-state solution. Empower Maryland is committed to working with groups like TFI, and listening to all sides to foster dialogues.

  • Indian Student Association Executive Board: Indian Student Association has a mission to bring together the Indian-American community at UMD and promote cultural unity through social, philanthropic, and cultural events throughout the year. Empower Maryland pledges to get input from minority communities and groups to ensure SGA decisions reflect the values of all students.

  • Kedma: Kedma aims to represent the Orthodox Jewish community at UMD. Our campus is comprised of a large contingency of those in the Kedma community, and the organization prides itself on being warm, open, diverse, and vibrant. Empower Maryland is committed to those same ideals and will work with groups like Kedma to be a voice for this important part of Maryland’s Jewish community.

  • Art History Association: The Art History Association fosters awareness of the resources available to undergraduate students in the Department of Art History and Archaeology and the broader university community. Empower Maryland is committed to elevating student group concerns with the University Administration to ensure their voices and concerns are being heard.

  • Maryland Mauj: Maryland Mauj is dedicated to providing to University of Maryland community events that showcase Bhangra, an Indian-folk dance originated from Punjab, India, as well as host events that celebrate Punjabi culture. Empower Maryland pledges to get input from minority communities and groups to ensure SGA decisions reflect the values of all students.

  • Korean Student Association Executive Board: Korean Student Association (KSA) is a student-led organization working to increase awareness about Korean culture and promote Korean-American culture, as the members build a positive community on campus. With more than 100 members, KSA hosts multiple events in conjunction with other student organizations on campus. Empower Maryland is committed to working with other minority communities and groups to ensure SGA decisions reflect the values of all students.

  • Pi Sigma Epsilon: Pi Sigma Epsilon is a co-ed, professional business fraternity that believes that everyone in all majors should be able to market themselves in a professional environment. PSE holds a wide variety of events including professional, fundraising, community service, and social on and around campus. Empower Maryland is committed to advocating for classes to teach real-world skills and elevating student group concerns with the University Administration to ensure their voices and concerns are being heard.

  • Zeta Beta Tau: Originally started in 1898 as the world's first Jewish Fraternity, ZBT prides itself on being an inclusive organization welcoming of any college man who understands and appreciates ZBT’s mission. Empower Maryland recognizes the importance of Greek life on campus, and we are committed to building healthy relationships between the Greek community and other student groups, local landlords, and the city of College Park. 

  • Active Minds: Active Minds is a mental health advocacy, education, and awareness organization that strives to reduce the stigma around mental illness and educate students on where they can get help. Empower Maryland is committed to fostering the development of a more comprehensive mental health and wellness plan that streamlines existing resources provided by the University Health Center and Counseling Center.

  • Israel American Council Mishelanu: Israel American Council Mishelanu is a pro-Israel campus program that fosters leaders and provides a home for Israeli-American students in order to explore and strengthen their Israeli-American & Jewish identity through culture, language, heritage, and a strong connection to Israel. Empower Maryland is committed to elevating student group concerns with the University Administration to ensure their voices and concerns are being heard.

  • Alpha Epsilon Pi: Alpha Epsilon Pi was founded founded to provide opportunities for Jewish men to strengthen their ties to the Jewish community and serving as a link between high school and career. Empower Maryland recognizes the importance of Greek life on campus, and we are committed to building healthy relationships between the Greek community and other student groups, local landlords, and the city of College Park. 

  • EntouRAAS: EntouRAAS is the university's premier classical garba and raas dance team. The organization has celebrated Indian culture and heritage through dance for over 10 years, and represents the University of Maryland in competitions as one of the most talented schools for this style of dance nationwide. Empower Maryland pledges to be proactive in connecting with connecting with minority groups to hear about their concerns, their passions, and ensuring SGA decisions reflect the values of all students.
